- Membership of the Clemson University Sailing Club is limited to students and faculty of Clemson University.
- After being "checked out" (approved to sail) by an officer, members are given a combination to the club so they can sail a boat at any time. No experience is necessary--we'll teach you how to sail! We offer plenty of learn to sail classes each semester.
- The racing team is open to all members of the sailing club who want to compete against other schools regionally, or wish to better their sailing skills each week!
- Due to a cut in university funding, dues for 2009-2010 will be $80 per semester or $140 per year.
- Meetings are called on Thursday nights in 207 Daniel at 7:00 PM.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Do I need to know how to sail to join?
- Absolutely not! Our experienced members and officers will teach you everything you'll need to know to safely sail on Lake Hartwell. A vast majority of our members had never stepped foot on a sailboat before joining Clemson Sailing. After only a few Learn to Sail classes, they're sailing all the time on their own!
2. What equipment do I need?
- We provide everything you'll need. We provide the boats, the life jackets, etc. Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, and a good attitude, and you'll be ready to go!
3. Can I bring my own sailboat/powerboat to the club if I join?
- No. We do not allow personal sailboats to be stored at the club under any circumstances.
4. Besides a dues payment, what is required of members?
- We are one of the few clubs that do not require much from our members. We hold workdays once a month. Participation during workdays is strongly encouraged but not required. Work days generally only require a few hours of light work. Because we are a student run organization, we require active participation from all our members.
5. Can I still join, even if it's later in the year?
- Absolutely! We wouldn't want you to not have the opportunity to sail just because you didn't find out about the club or join earlier in the semester/year. Everyone is welcome at any point during the school year!
